Are you looking for a little adventure in your yoga practice? This might be the one for you! I invite you to join me “out on a limb” as we explore my favorite pose: Ardha Chandrasana (Half Moon).
This practice is definitely challenging, but I also think it’s accessible for most folks. Primarily because we take our time to build to the peak pose AND I offer many stops along the way for folks who aren’t quite ready for balancing on one leg! We begin by grounding – finding a connection with the Earth below us and the Breath within. Then we take several slow and intentional steps on our path to half-moon. We warm up the body with some gentle half Sun Salutations. We energize with a generous wide-leg twist (which slightly resembles Ardha Chandrasana if you ask me). We prepare the hips and thighs with Warrior 2 (Virabhadrasan 2) and Triangle Pose (Tirkonasana). And, before you know it – Half-Moon is within reach.
I recommend having two blocks available for this practice, as well as any other support you may need.
