Hatha Practice 3-13-21

For this practice, I recommend having some yoga blocks or a chair available, and any other props that help you feel supported. I begin with a brief discussion of the origins of Yoga in South Asia and some of the philosophical underpinnings of the practice. I’m currently taking a course on Yoga Philosophy with Luvena Rangel (@curvyyogime on IG) and I’m excited to share what I learn with you. ¬†The full sequence is listed below for your reference.

Begin in a Comfortable Seat or Laying Down

  • Acknowledge Yoga’s Roots
  • Ground and Center

Gentle Twist

Apanasana (Knees to Chest)

Make your way up to Standing

Tadasana (Mountain Pose)

Virabhadrasana 1 (Warrior 1)

1/2 Sun Salutations with

  • High Lunge
  • Low Lunge
  • High Lunge to Crescent¬†

Virabhadrasana 1

Virabhadrasana 2 (Warrior 2)

Tadasana

Make your way down to the mat

Sphynx or Bridge

Gentle Twists

Quad Stretches
